Joy of Salvation: The Testimony of Edlene Joseph
On Sunday, April 13th, 1997, Edlene accepted Jesus into her heart during a salvation-focused sermon. Her pastor's encouraging message highlighted the importance of seeking God and building a relationship with Him. Despite her young age, Edlene was eager to learn about God and strongly desired to seek Him more. After the sermon, the pastor emphasized the significance of accepting Jesus and asked, “Is there anyone here today who would love to know this great God who will never leave, abandon, or forsake you?” Boldly, Edlene stood and walked to the front along with others. The congregation cheered, and the pastor prayed over her as she repeated a vow, making Jesus Christ her Savior. She felt joyful and confident, knowing this was the best decision she had ever made at such a young age.
Edlene grew up hearing about the Holy Spirit Baptism in her church, though they mainly focused on water baptism. She’s grateful that her current pastor—who is also her husband—often spoke about the Holy Spirit Baptism during his ministry. He encouraged people to accept Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit. One day, at a youth meeting where he was speaking, she chose to receive the Holy Spirit baptism and asked Jesus to baptize her. Her pastor told everyone to open their mouths and let the Spirit move, and suddenly another language started flowing from her mouth as she repeated the tongues the pastor was speaking. She was filled with joy, and together they sang in tongues, making angelic sounds. This was a deeply beautiful experience for her.
Edlene’s passion, inspired by God, is to be a blessing through LMMI by leading others in praise, worship, truth, and fellowship by sharing God's love. She is passionate about ministering to others whenever she gathers with them to have a good time in the Lord.
