What Is Church At Home?
Believers In the Presence of God
After confirming God’s voice to leave a legalistic local church, Wilson and his wife, Edlene, together with their children, started having praise and worship and Bible study services at home as a response to God’s calling on his life to plant a grace church. He believed that God wanted him to start building the foundation of the church with his family, who would be the staff to usher in the people who were to become part of the church launch team.
Therefore, together as a family, they spent a few years studying the Word of God, praying, and participating in praise and worship. During that period of time, following God’s wisdom and revelations, Wilson, through the power of the Holy Spirit, had gracefully transformed the members of his family into the ministers they needed to be to serve others. In light of his confirmation of their transformation, he decided to share the praise and worship and Bible study with other people.
Then, Church At Home, as a name for the praise and worship and Bible study service, was revealed to him. As the service was still being held at home, he and his family started using the Zoom platform to allow other people to be part of it.
Though the name Church At Home seems to have been inspired by the family’s home service, based on further revelations that Wilson received, he realized that “HOME” means more than a physical family house, according to some of its meanings in the Bible. In the Bible, “HOME” signifies more than a physical structure; it represents a place of refuge, rest, and belonging, encompassing both the physical dwelling and the family or household within it.
To answer the question, “What is Church At Home?”
It is truly a place where believers gather together in the name of Jesus, just as the Bible says in Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.”
Church At Home is a place where believers gather together in the presence of God. It is a space of safety, love, and spiritual growth, reflecting God’s design for human relationships.
