Answer: A natural response may be to feel hurt, rejected, angry, or discouraged when someone mistreats us. A supernatural response comes from allowing the Holy Spirit to govern our emotions and help us respond according to God's Word rather than our feelings. 

Romans 8:5–6 (KJV) 

“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” 

Key Truth: Natural emotions are real, but they do not have to rule the believer. We can choose to walk according to the Spirit.

Answer: When we are born again, we become new creations in Christ. We are no longer limited to our natural abilities because God's Spirit lives within us and gives us supernatural strength. 

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) 

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 

Philippians 4:13 (KJV) 

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” 

Key Truth: The new birth gives believers a new spiritual identity and access to Christ's strength.

Answer: Natural human resources depend primarily on human reasoning, emotions, and abilities. Believers can go beyond these resources by depending on God's wisdom, power, and Spirit. 

Zechariah 4:6 (KJV) 

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” 

Key Truth: Spiritual victory does not come merely through human strength; it comes through dependence upon the Spirit of God. 

Answer: God created mankind in His image and designed us to have fellowship with Him. Therefore, our spiritual relationship with God is essential to living the life He intended for us. 

Genesis 1:27 (KJV) 

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” 

Key Truth: We were created by God and for relationship with God. Our spiritual life cannot be separated from His purpose for us. 

Answer: We were created for relationship and communion with God, not to live independently of Him. Jesus taught that just as branches depend upon the vine, we must remain connected to Him. 

John 15:5 (KJV) 

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” 

Key Truth: Just as a branch cannot produce fruit apart from the vine, believers cannot experience the fullness of spiritual life apart from continual dependence upon Christ.

Answer: Sin, corruption, and brokenness entered human experience when mankind turned away from dependence upon God and chose its own way. 

Genesis 3:6–7 (KJV) 

“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.” 

Romans 5:12 (KJV) 

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” 

Key Truth: Humanity's separation from God brought sin and brokenness. God's answer is to restore us to relationship with Himself through Christ. 

Answer: Christians have the Holy Spirit dwelling within them. His presence gives believers supernatural resources to overcome natural emotional reactions and walk according to the Spirit. 

Romans 8:11 (KJV) 

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” 

Galatians 5:16 (KJV) 

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” 

Key Truth: The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in the believer. We therefore have a supernatural source of strength available to us.

Answer: Instead of simply accepting every natural thought or feeling, believers should allow God's Word and Spirit to renew their minds and transform the way they think and respond. 

Romans 12:2 (KJV) 

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” 

Key Truth: Transformation takes place as our thinking is renewed according to God's truth rather than being shaped by natural feelings or the world's patterns. 

Answer: Because believers have experienced the new birth and have God's Spirit living within them. They have access to God's supernatural power and therefore should not measure their possibilities only by natural limitations. 

Ephesians 3:20 (KJV) 

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” 

1 John 4:4 (KJV) 

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 

Key Truth: The Christian life should not be measured merely by what is naturally possible. God's power is at work within His people. 

Answer: The main lesson is that although Christians still experience natural human emotions, they do not have to be controlled by them. Through the new birth, God's Word, and the indwelling Holy Spirit, believers can rise above natural reactions and live according to God's supernatural power.
